Multimedia - Director

Adobe's (formerly Macromedia's) Director is the standard for cross-platform multimedia development. Whether delivered on disc as a projector or executable, or over a network through Shockwave, it is the program of choice for high-end production work.

That's not to say that it can't be lightweight either. Presentations of all sizes can be made with Director, from simple slide shows and animations, to data-base-driven, fully-interactive experiences. And with careful planning, web delivery is easily achieved, without sacrificing the power or flexibility to include all types of media.
